Henry Jackson

Mr. Henry Jackson was born June 30, 1932, in Oakville, Tennessee. He was the eleventh of fourteen children born to the late Tom and Pearl (Lawshe) Jackson. He accepted Christ at an early age.

Mr. Jackson served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He later came to Indianapolis in 1959. Henry was united in marriage to Roberta Smith on April 27, 1962; they shared 56 years together.

Mr. Jackson retired from General Motors, Chevrolet Division. He loved working with his hands. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and grilling. He was also known for his landscaping skills.

Mr. Jackson was a faithful member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Jackson departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings.

Mr. Jackson leaves to cherish and celebrate his memory, wife, Roberta; son, Henry Lee; daughters, Sharon, Leslie, Constance (Christopher Sr.) and Stephanie (Eric L.); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearline Ward and Mamie Patterson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
