Helen Joan Golder

Ms. Helen Joan Golder, age 85, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016.Helen was born in Indianapolis, IN to Catherine Chambers and Fred Cody. She received her formal education in the Indianapolis Public School System after which she continued her education in the field of beauty culture. She was self-employed as a Cosmetologist for many years and later worked at Montgomery Ward until she retired.Early in life she professed a hope in Christ and was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading the Word and would always keep the television tuned to The Christian Television Network. She also loved cooking for her family and friends.Helen Joan Golder leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Ms. Debra Scott; loyal sister, Janice Banks-Watson; brother, Sherman Cody (Cheryl) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13th from 9am until service time of 11am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1003 W. 16th Street. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
