Hazel Lee Dodge

In Loving memory of Hazel Lee (Johnson) Dodge born Feb. 3, 1933 & departed this life at the age of 88
years on Feb 21st 2021
Hazel was born to Benjamin William Johnson & Annie Rose Tate (Johnson) on Feb. 3rd, 1933 in Marvell,
Arkansas. She was united in marriage to the late David L. Dodge on Feb 17th 1951. From this union was
two daughters Stephany D. Dodge and Faith S Dodge
Hazel professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized and united with Asbury Missionary
Baptist Church in Marvell Arkansas. She was a past member of People’s Memorial Baptist Church and
Sunny Mount Baptist before joining Northside New Era Baptist Church. She was an active member of the
Choir, Sick & Shut in Ministries and an active Sunday school member.
Hazel was a custom drapery seamstress at Sears & Roebuck for 30 years as well as working at Brylane for
10 years retiring from both.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and love everyone that knew her. She was proceeded
in death by her husband, her parents, her grand-daughter Bionca J Dodge.
She leaves to mourn & cherish her memory her daughters Stephany D Dodge, Faith S Dodge, her sister
Maggie M Taylor of Indianapolis, Indiana, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and surrogate family

Whether you said a prayer, sent a card or bouquet of flowers, offered a helping, phoned or fixed a dish
your act of kindness did not go unnoticed. When you prayed we felt God’s loving arms around us and
were comforted. Your cards and flower’s reminds us of God’s grace and mercy. Whatever you did, seen
or unseen, we are blessed by your generosity and ever thankful for your love.
A very special thanks goes to Brookdale Hospice, Grace at Home and Senior Helpers for all the help that
was provide to our mother.
