Gregory Damon Yowell
Gregory Damon Yowell was born on August 22, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the fourth child
of Robert and Deloria (Jones) Yowell.
Gregory was a trickster and comedian to those around him, and always had an “impish” smile on his face,
like he was “up to something” (He probably was).
Kidding aside, Greg was a talented singer, dancer, and artist who loved Earth, Wind, and Fire.
He attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from John Marshall High School where he was
an accomplished runner on the track team. He joined the Air Force after high school, and began a long career
with the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Greg had 3 daughters who brought him great happiness, and were his pride and joy. He earned his wings on
Thursday November 11, 2021, after his battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Deloria Yowell-clay, Sisters Joyce and Rene Yowell, and
nephew Robert “Robbie” Mayberry Jr.

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world do I give to you.
Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
