George Reginald Mosley "Reggie"

Minister George Reginald “Reggie” Mosley was born October 3, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the eldest of three children born to Bishop George Leonard Mosley and Mrs. Lorraine McLeese Mosley. Reggie was always a happy young man who liked to joke and have fun.

A true child of the 60s, Reggie grew up not only doing chores and homework, but also playing outdoors until the lit streetlights signaled time to come in the house. Bike riding, basketball, and kickball were his favorite activities.

Reggie accepted the Lord in his youth and was baptized at the Rembrandt Street Church of God Sanctified, Inc. by Bishop Ned Lewis. An even more proud day for his mother since his father, sister, and brother were baptized at the same time.

Reggie attended IPS number 86 and graduated from Shortridge High School in 1975. From an early age, it was evident that he was talented in several areas. He was an athlete, a singer, played several instruments and had a special affinity for the piano.

He was on the Shortridge basketball and football teams and held the school record for discus throwing. Reggie attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, and also IUPUI. He was a long-time employee of the Ft. Benjamin Harrison Finance Center and also AMAX Coal Co.

On June 10, 1978, he married Denise K. Mosley. For more than 20 years they worked to raise their 4 boys and baby girl. Reggie loved being a father, a grandfather and a great-grandfather. He worked with church kids and neighborhood kids. He especially enjoyed helping his children, and any child, explore the love of music. He started the Flanner House Choir and also The Voices of Love, and spent many years developing these gospel groups that sang around the Indianapolis area and the state.

Praising the Lord in song became one of Reggie’s greatest joys, until he was called to preach the gospel and his praise was elevated! Reggie had a zeal for proclaiming the good news! His voice would often boom with excitement as he preached. It was a blessed and happy day when he joined his father in ministry at the Bethany Rembrandt Church of God Sanctified, Inc. He preached, joined the Brotherhood, and served as the Sunday School Superintendent.

The Lord took Reggie home on March 10, 2020. He will be sorely and lovingly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his father, Bishop George Leonard Mosley and mother, Lorraine McLeese Mosley; stepmother, Bessie M. Mosley; brother, William E. McLeese; son, George Raymond Mosley, and grandson, Jayson French.

He is survived by his former wife, Denise K. Mosley; sons: Darran Keith, Jayson Brian (Jessica), and Aaron Anthony Mosley; daughter, Aundraya I. (Corey) Winters; sister, Gail Denise Mosley; brother, Leonard Patrick Mosley; daughter-in-law, Frances Johnson; stepbrothers: Gerald Spivey and Thomas (Mendy) Williams; stepsisters: Jennifer Spivey Turner and Alice Spivey Gatewood; grandsons: Jalen, William, Michael, Israel, Zion, Zavier, Rashaad, Tyriq, Andre, and Loywer; granddaughters, Jabria, Shyliyah, and Aliyah; great granddaughter Nariyah; nephews, Matthew Mosley and William McLeese, Jr.; step-nephews: Damon (Brandi) Flanagan Taziyah, Gerald (Karole) Spivey, Jr., and Anthony Spivey; step-nieces: Danielle and Marlene Turner, Ashley Fink, Arie Gatewood, Jennifer Rogers, and Kiera Spivey; aunt, Charlotte (David) Buck and a host of other family members and friends.
