Deacon Fred L. Mckinney

Fred McKinney was born in Tallahassee, Florida and came to Indianapolis, Indiana as a very young man. Fred was a hard worker and retired with the Indiana State Police.

He was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he made his decision to follow Christ and faithfully served in several capacities as Deacon, an Usher, part of the Laymen’s Ministry and a member of the Male Chorus.

Fred loved his family, friends and his church family.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Samuel McKinney and Ozzie Johnson; brother, Charles Johnson and sister, Elouise Gibson.

Fred is survived by his sister, Clara Gaines; brother, LeRoy Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, family members, church family and friends.
