Frances Maxine Pannell Bandy

FRANCES MAXINE PANNELL BANDY aka “Frankie” was born to Wilton Pannell and Ilean Pruden Pannell in Beckley West Virginia.
There she expected a faith in Christ going to Welcome Baptist Church. Frances attended and graduated from Stratton High in Beckley. She
excelled in various activities while going to Stratton High School including a dance club with her sisters and cheerleading and baton
twirling.
While still in High School, she met and eventually married Cephas Lewis Bandy on February 27, 1953. From that union they were blessed
with 3 children, Pier Angela, Cephas Lewis Jr. and Andre Dion. The family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in the late 50’s. When the
children were school age her career in the retail sales took off. With her quick wit and love of people she was a natural. Over a period of 30
years she worked at Mechanics Laundry, Sams Club, Subway, Kmart, Murphy’s Steak House and Value City.
Frances was an upbeat fun-loving person with her commentaries on life in general. She loved music and dancing, giving parties and
entertaining friends and family. With having a green thumb, she enjoyed gardening regardless if it was indoors or out. She also loved
sitting on her patio enjoying nature and she prided herself in her home. Se also liked to do 1,000 piece puzzles that she would turn into pictures.
Frances departed from this life on September 9, 2019 surrounded by her daughter and husband. She is preceded in death by her son, Andre
Dion; her brothers, Arthur Pannell (Jan) and Herman Pannell; her sisters, Dorothy Hale (Soney), Marion Bettis (Jim), Armetta Grooms
(Willard) and Armetta Powell and a baby brother who died in infancy known as “Cottontail”.
Frances leaves to cherish her memory her husband Cephas L. Bandy; her daughter Pier Angela; her son Cephas Lewis, Jr.; a grandson Alex
Dorian Mays (Tenja); a granddaughter Shantel Monique Miller (Zack); her sister Pauline Morris (Curt); her brother James “Randy” Pannell
(Margaret); a host of nieces, nephews and a multitude of extended family that called her “Aunt Frances”.
