Evangelist Ossie M. (Humphrey) Hardister

November 18, 1948 — September 8, 2018

Ossie Mary Humphrey-Hardister was born November 18, 1948 in Salem, Illinois. She was the last of sixteen children born to the late Isaac and Odessa Humphrey. The family was looking for a far better life and moved to the Indianapolis, Indiana when Ossie was a young child.

Ossie received her primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She also attended Indiana Business College for two years. Ossie was employed at R.C.A. as an inspector for ten years. Later, she worked for Target until she retired.
On one beautiful evening Ossie found the 'love of her life', Richard Hardister and from that day on they were always together. On July 1988 the two became one in Holy Matrimony.
Ossie loved to travel and go camping to see new and different things and places. Most of all she loved her family around her. She was able to tell you off then would give you a big hug saying, 'I love you more' and 'Yes sir ree Bob'.
As a young adult of 33 years, Ossie confessed her hope in Christ starting on her mission of evangelist teaching the goodness of the Lord and spreading Gods word everywhere. She won many souls to Christ. Because of her love for the Lord many of her family members know him today. Ossie was a strong and powerful teacher at First Philemon House of Prayer Church.
When Ossie stepped down as Co-Pastor, her husband Richard Hardister was anointed and became Pastor of the First Philemon House of Prayer Church. Mary was an evangelist and co-pastor by his side together in the path of God.
Co-Pastor Ossie Mary Hardister ended her life journey on September 8, 2018. God said 'your fight is over come unto me and rest'.
Ossie leaves behind her love and her memory to cherish for her husband, Pastor Richard Hardister; sons, DeQuincy Lopez and Richard Hardister Jr. (Kristy); daughters, Felicia Bryant and Angela Enoch (Sean); sister, Marva Lee Humphrey; brothers-in-law: William Hardister (Marlene), Gerald Hardister (Angela) and Charles Hardister; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Hardister and Donna Hardister; a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many, many loving relatives and friends.
