Esther Jean Johnson, the daughter of Richard Morse and Ellis Morse, began her life journey on April 4, 1932 in Evansville, Indiana.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950 where she was a member of the school band. After graduating from high school, Esther attended nursing school and received a degree in nursing. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 50 years serving the sick at hospitals and nursing homes. Esther was also a licensed beautician and played piano at church in her hometown of Evansville, Indiana in her younger years.
Esther picked up many friends along her life journey and some who still kept in touch all of her life. She loved the Lord and always read the Bible when she could no longer physically go to church. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Esther was always a soldier for the Lord, and if you were feeling down, she would always pick you up.
Esther Jean Johnson, 88, answered the Master’s call on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Spring Mill Meadows Hospice Facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eleanor Morse and Joyce Butler; and great-granddaughter, Aries Avery.
She leaves behind one son, Bruce L. Johnson (Rita); three granddaughters: Deandrea, Raquel (Dewayne) and Cori (Darin); one grandson, Keatrick (Robin); ten great-grandchildren: Avery, DaMya, Jordan, Nyjah, Le Airion, Mallik, Erick Jr., Darin Jr., Luis and Myles; two nieces, Crystal and Mickeley; one nephew, Timothy; and a host of family and friends.
Esther will be missed by many on Earth but was received in Heaven with.
