Emily Denise Presley was born July 2, 1952, to Mr. Emery and Delilah Phelps Moss in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She received her primary education at Indianapolis Public School #38. She continued her education and love for learning at Arsenal Technical High School and Martin University.
Emily shared her beautiful smile while working for several employers in Indianapolis, including Dow Chemical, Indianapolis Public Schools Transportation, Indianapolis Metro Bus Company and Resorts Condominiums International, where she met her future husband, Alan Presley.
Emily was a beautiful, loving, caring, compassionate person with many skills and gifts. She enjoyed spending time with her sister, Jeanette. Emily and Jeanette were inseparable, best friends who were always together and always looking out for one another.
Emily was also referred to as a bonus sister by her cousins. She was the person the Phelps family could depend on to drive anyone out of town for numerous short and long trips. She loved her children, cherished her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them all.
Emily’s interests included planning special date nights, gardening, coordinating yard sales and decorating. Emily loved to decorate for special occasions, especially the annual family Christmas dinner. She was always the person who would bring all the extra supplies, decorations, gifts and of course, lots of love. Emily was a talented cake decorator. She loved baking cakes for her family, friends and loved ones.
Emily joined Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church and a few years later, Emily and Alan united in holy matrimony June 19, 2010. Emily often taught Sunday school and helped in any way she could. Everyone referred to her as the person always willing to lend a helping hand.
Emily Denise Presley, “WeeWee”, departed this life on September 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Larry C. Shotwell, Jr.
Emily is survived by her husband, Alan W. Presley; daughter, Sheron Randolph (Walter) Vaughn; sons, Ralph P. (Tara) Randolph and Daryell (Peaches) Williams Jr.; stepsons, Douglas Presley and Marques Presley; six grandchildren; three step-grandsons; one great-grandchild; brother, Barry Moss (Elaine); sister, Jeanette Shotwell, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
