Ella Mae Amis

A Celebration of Life

Ella Mae Amis was born October 8,1933 in Forest, MS to the late Eddie and Irene Beaman. At an early age, she confessed her love for Christ and accepted him as her personal Lord and Savior. Ella was a member of Scott United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, where she served on the usher board. She was an active member of The Household of Ruth. Ella relocated to Forest, MS to care for her parents and became a member of Mt Hebron Church.

Ella graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and later completed college courses obtained and became licensed as an insurance broken. She ran for a political position in Scott County in Forest, MS. She was very active in the community and assisted many individuals during her life.

Ella was a devoted mother and grandmother. She received her wings and transitioned from this earthly life on September 13, 2022 at the age of 88. Ella loved gardening, cooking, sewing and she loved her cats. She was proceeded in death by her parents; Eddie and Irene Beaman, ex-husband Wardell Brantly Amis, sons Donald E. Amis and Drake Amis and granddaughter Brandy Payne. She leaves to treasure her memories; Artis Wells, son Bradley Amis, daughters Shirley Britton-Cox (William), Laverne Carter-Smith (Jason), Ellen Gaines (Homer), grandchildren Felisha Britton, Ron Page, Ronieka Howell, Tiffany Arnold, Shannon Page, Donnell Wilson, LaDonte Amis (raised by Ella), Diondre Amis, Lisa Wadley, Lauren Amis, Donnovan Amis, Prince Amis, Isis Amis and a host of great-grandchildren. Ella was truly ;oved by many. She will always have a special place in our hearts.
