Edward Norris

Mr. Edward Norris, age 89 passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016.Edward was raised in Chattanooga, TN with his 10 brothers and sisters. In 1959 he left Tennessee to live and work in Indianapolis. He worked and retired from Citizens Gas and Coke where he was the first black mechanic. He was a proud World War II Navy Veteran where he was a machinist. Edward was a member of the Rough Riders Motorcycle Club, and he was also a member of NARVARV Club at Four Seasons. Edward loved the outdoors and fishing with his sons. Cherishing his memory are his sons, Eddie B. (Algerine), Billy Joe (Monica), Tyrone, LaNathan and Richard Norris; his daughter, Wanda Draper, wife; Joann Norris, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 10 great, great-grandchildren, brother; John (Faye) Norris, sisters; Janie McDuffie, Glenda (George) Williams and Harriet Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27th from 11am until 12:30pm at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals 5811 East 38th Street. Funeral service will follow visitation at 12:30 pm.
