Edward Glass Jr. was born to Ella Glass (Brooks) of Opelika, Alabama and Edward Glass Sr. on April 18, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana where he lived his entire life.
He attended St. Rita Catholic School and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1966.
He was active in sports and was a part of the Tech basketball team that won the State Championship his Senior year. Ed LOVED sports, especially 90’s era basketball and he was a big race fan. He played, watched and debated anyone on the topic.
Edward had a heart for God and gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church and sang in the church choir.
After high school, Edward drafted into the United States Army in 1966. He was stationed in Germany, Japan and Vietnam. After returning home from the War, Edward was hired on at the United States Post Office. Edward would go on to work for the City-County Building and eventually in the Surveyors Office until he retired.
Edward was a kind and good-hearted man who loved life and fought for it. HE WORKED HARD AND PLAYED HARD and he was the patriarch of the Glass Family.
Edward Glass Jr. departed this life on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his sisters, Christine Gray and Stella Glass; younger brothers, William and Larry Glass; and a host of loving family and friends.
