Edmund Lee Powell

August 31, 1969 — August 15, 2022

Indianapolis, IN

EDMUND LEE POWELL was born August 31, 1969 in Indianapolis Indiana to Edmund Powell and Mamie Lee (Green) Cunegin

EDMUND was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System even though he was blind.  He also graduated from the Indiana School for the Blind on May 25th, 1988.

EDMUND was struck by a hit and run driver at the age of 14 years old which left him blind, paralyzed from the waist down.  He later, from complications of this accident, developed hearing problems. Edmund was truly a blessed man.  He really did not complain about his problems and saw good in everyone he met.

EDMUND accepted Christ at an early age.  He was baptized by Rev. Charles Richmond at an early age.  He would attend Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with his mother, Mamie Cunigan.  Even though Edmund had these disabilities; he never let them stop him from spreading LOVE to everyone.  Edmund could remember everyone’s birthdays, he could wake you up on time if you asked him no matter how early or late.  Even though he could not see; you would get a phone call until he reach you.  He could make tapes, videos, DVD with uncanny accuracy.  When Edmund hung up from talking to to you he would always say something about the LORD.  He loved the Lord and would learn from television programs and learn scriptures from what he heard.

EDMUND was an avid sports fan.  He loved the COLTS and he loved watching movies like Night Rider and was an avid music fan.

EDMUND POWELL went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Regina Powell.

EDMUND leaves to morn his spirit, his brother, Willie Powell; niece, Regina Powell; Aseona Powell, Averi Powell, Addisyn Anderson, Ashton Anderson, Aiden Anderson, Alexander Anderson, Devon Powell, Wynter Powell Malaya Powell; his aunts, Mary Gooch, Elizabeth (Richard) Hunter, and Flora Greer; his niece, Samone Greer; his uncle, James (Carolyn) Wiggins; and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
