Eddie Dee Woods, Sr.

Eddie D. Woods Sr. was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his late parents: Andy Southern Jr. and Lillie Mae Woods Summerhill. Eddie attended Burrell High School where he played football and was recently inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. Eddie worked at U.S. Airways as a mechanic for nearly 40 years until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed singing in the choir at Bethel Lauderdale Missionary Baptist Church (Florence, AL) and attending Men’s Bible Study Fellowship. Eddie became a member of Mt. Carmel Church when he moved back to Indiana. 

Eddie leaves to cherish four children: Erica L. Woods (Indianapolis, IN), Andrea D. Latimore (McCordsville, IN), Detra M. (Anthony) Warren (Fishers, IN), and Eddie D. Woods Jr. (Fishers, IN). 

Eddie’s siblings: Patricia Southern Hardin (Deceased), Birler Southern (Saginaw, MI), Andy Southern III (Saginaw, MI), Harold (Debra) Southern (Tuskegee, AL), Dorothy Stanback (Wheaton, IL), Charlene Washington (Saginaw, MI), Cedric Hawkins (Florence, AL), Deborah Southern (Deceased), Anthony (Patsy) Hawkins (Huntsville, AL), Thomas (Sabrina) Summerhill (Powder Springs, GA), William (Janet) Summerhill (Bessemer, AL), Donna Hawkins Johnson (Powder Springs, GA).

Eddie had a host of loved ones: grand and great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews
