Doris R. Stigger

Mrs. Doris Ree Thompson-Stigger, one of thirteen children of the late Samuel Adam Thompson, Sr. and Orma Ree Coleman, was born December 27, 1940 in Jericho, Arkansas. She relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana as a young child with her mother and step-father, Arthur H. Coleman, Sr.
Doris attended Indianapolis Public School #4 and Crispus Attucks High School. She attended Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis where she studied Restaurant Management.
Doris was baptized at an early age and she attended Saint Paul A.M.E. Church located on East 25th Street as an adult where she served in many church activities and responsibilities.
On April 9, 1966 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Donald E Stigger, I. Doris and Donald resided in Indianapolis and to this union two children were born, Donald E. Stigger, II. and Dawn Angela Stigger.
Doris was employed with several organizations throughout her life. Her last place of employment was Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis from which she retired in 2008.
Doris departed this life on March 9, 2017 at the age of 76. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald E. Stigger I. Father, Samuel A Thompson, Sr., Step-father, Arthur H. Coleman, Sr., Sister, Paulette Hill, and Brother, Luther L. Coleman.

Doris leaves to her memory children: Son - Donald E. Stigger II (Wanda Stigger), Daughter - Dawn Angela Stigger, Grandchildren; Porsha Hill, Samuel Parker, Wesley Stigger, Dexter Stigger, Kaylynn Stigger, Krystal Stigger, Jaylon Brown and Jaivon Brown. She is also survived by her Mother, Orma Ree Coleman. Siblings Samuel A. Thompson Jr., Shirley J. Fulton, Sammie J. Spencer, Norma J. Arnold, Jackie S. Coleman, Sr., Arlene Coleman, Arthur H. Coleman, Charles E. Coleman, Kevin Coleman and Evan Coleman.

A Visitation was held at Our Savior Missionary Baptist Church 9150 E. 10th Street Indianapolis IN 46229 at 10:00:00 AM on 3/18/2017.

A Celebration of Life was held at Our Savior Missionary Baptist Church 9150 E. 10th Street Indianapolis IN 46229 at 12:00:00 PM on 3/18/2017.
