Donald C. Brown

Donald Clark Brown was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 21, 1960. He was the oldest of three children born to Donald Austin Brown (Deceased) and Helen White. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church by the late Dr. F. Benjamin Davis. Later, he joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Dr. Fitzhugh Lee Lyons Sr.

Donald, affectionately known as “Pookie” to his family and friends, attended John Hope School #26 and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1978.

After High School, Donald enlisted in the United States Army. Following his military service, he was employed at the Finance Center and Byers Envelope Company. Donald had many talents, one of which was Barbering. He was a licensed Barber and his talents were featured in an article entitled “Upward March” that appeared in the October 15, 1995 edition of The Indianapolis Star.

Donald departed this life on September 16, 2024 at the age of 63. He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Helen White; son Donald Brown Jr.; five grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Brown and Carlotta Fitzpatrick; brothers Charles Brown and Carlo White (Shaundra); an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
