Derwin Shields

Derwin Shields was born on January 10, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is the son of Paul E. Shields and Dorothy J. Shields. He is the youngest of four sons.

Derwin attended Julian D. Coleman School #110 for his elementary school and he attended Arsenal Technical High School where he graduated.

Derwin loved working on cars, he got a job working for Minor's Radiator and Body Shop at the age of 18 where he learned most of his knowledge and skills about fixing, repairing, and detailing cars, he worked there for over 20 years. He also worked for Ray Skillman Body Shop for over 10 years, furthering his career in the auto body field.

Derwin also loved playing basketball, as well as all his brothers, he attended Wheeler Boys Club in his younger days where he played the sport a lot. He also played on the Arsenal Technical High School basketball team. He loved dancing, boy did he love dancing and listening to music.

Derwin accepted the Lord at an early age of his life. He loved his family, if someone was in need of some help, he would somehow be there offering his time, finances, skills, and knowledge. He loved his nieces and nephews.

Derwin Shields completed his journey on the 2nd day of April in the year 2025 at the age of 62 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Shields.

Left to cherish and celebrate his life include his daughter, Darionna Shields; mother, Dorothy J. Shields; brothers: Dennis Shields (Sharon), Darryl L. Shields, twin Erwin Shields and David Taylor; sisters: Pamela McClain, Paula Shields, Sherry and Terry Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
