Dennis Wayne Mumford

Mr. Dennis Wayne Mumford, Sr., age 65, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.Dennis was born to Charles D. and Jacquelyn W. Mumford (Spurlin) in Indianapolis, IN.HIs parents preceded him in death. Dennis was also preceded in death by his grandmother Agnes Taylor, his oldest brother Steven Mumford and a very special person to him; Mary Johnson.Dennis attend Crispus Attucks High School. He worked as a Bell Ringer for The Salvation Army. He was also a professional cook for many years at various restaurants in Indianapolis.Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory; wife, Betty (Upshaw) Mumford, a stepfather Leon Spurlin, a sister Alesia Spurlin, two brothers; Demetrius Mumford and Richard Mumford, 5 sons, 2 daughters: David Wayne Upshaw, Dennis Wayne Mumford, Jr. (Andrean), James Dion Mumford, K'ream Cordeyah Mumford (Tiana), Medina Nicole Mumford, LaMonte' Wesley Mumford and Tametra Renae Johnson, 18 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, 3 nieces, 2 nephews and a host of other family members and friends.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 11am until 12 Noon at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals 5811 E. 38th Street. Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Sutherland Park Cemetery.
