Deacon Raplh Parson, Jr

June 25, 1944 — July 3, 2016

Deacon Ralph Parson, Jr. was born in Coldwater, MS. He was the 6th child of 10 children born to Curtis Parson, Sr. and Zeonia Hill Parson. Upon moving to Indianapolis, Ralph attended and graduated from local schools.

After settling in Indianapolis, the family joined Community Baptist Church where Ralph first met his wife and constant companion of more than 50 years, Irene Tucker. While at Community, Ralph's foundation was laid in his love for God and the Word. He accepted the call to serve as a Deacon and dedicated his life to serve in that role for many years. He also loved to sing and ministered through song.

Ralph enjoyed an adventurous career. He attended the University of Dallas, earning his degree in Accounting and later earning a Master's Degree in Business. While working as a consultant in Indianapolis, he was introduced to Mr. Dudley of Dudley Products, Inc. (Greensboro, NC) He and his wife moved to North Carolina in the early 1980's where he worked in sales and accounting for more than 20 years. He traveled extensively across the United States as well as abroad.

In 2007, Ralph and his wife Irene decided to return to Indianapolis. This allowed them to be closer to their beloved brothers and sister. Ralph was a devoted, loving husband and father; his wife and family meant the world to him.

Ralph transcended this earthly life to be with the Lord on July 3, 2016. He leaves behind his devoted wife Irene, five living children: Mel (Tandra), Jarvis, Larry, Sheila, Stephen (Monika); 1 deceased child Kelvin (Veronica); 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Correll (Vessa), Chester (Geraldine) Charles, Robert (Sandy); 1 deceased brother Jerry; 2 sisters: Dorothy (Jack), Velma (Dell); and host of other friends and relatives.
