Daniel Franklin 'Danny' Davis Sr.

Our Beloved Daniel Franklin Davis Sr. was born August 11, 1934 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to John Davis and Daisy Bell (Miller) Davis. He was loved by many and to some he was passionately known as 'Danny' or 'Bubble Eyes'.

At the tender age of 12 years old Danny was forced to leave his hometown of Aberdeen, forgoing any formal education. This did not stifle his desire to take care of himself and his family. He began washing semi- trailers in Chicago, Illinois to support himself and send money home to help his family in Aberdeen.

Danny eventually moved to Indianapolis, Indiana with his current wife of 61 years, Earnestyne (Hansbrough) Davis. 'Bubble Eyes' loved his family and he continued to harbor a strong desire to provide for them. His resources extended beyond his earnings from his places of employment. His unique charisma and savvy enhanced his ability to support, guide and protect those he loved. His skills with his knife didn't hurt either.

He was baptized at an early age. Danny instilled the love of God in his family assuring that they attended church services at Tride Stone Baptist Church. He last attended church at New Direction Worship Center.

Daniel Franklin Davis Sr. departed this life on Monday, December 24, 2018. His parents, John and Daisy Davis; children: Donnell Mosley, Dorelle Bailey, Annice Davis, Daniel F. Davis Jr., Kenneth Davis and Steve Lewis; son-in- law, Michael Johnson; siblings: Rose Nolden (Frank), John Davis (Gustoria) and Annie P. Dorsey all preceded him in death.

Daniel leaves to cherish his most precious memories to his dedicated wife, Earnestyne Davis; his children: Daisy Quick (Martin), Herman Davis (Delores), Melvin Davis (Cathy), Vincent E. Davis, Verniece Davis (Dawuud), Dexter L. Davis, Amy D. Davis, Felicia Johnson, Jerome E. Davis (Joyce) and Franklin Lightfoot; siblings: Mavis Davis, Sam Davis and Robert Davis (Sandra); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Visitation was held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 1301 N. Goodlet Ave Indianapolis IN 46222 at 10:00:00 AM on 12/29/2018.

A Celebration of Life was held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 1301 N. Goodlet Ave Indianapolis IN 46222 at 12:00:00 PM on 12/29/2018.
