Dale Andre Flynn Sr. was born June 5, 1954, to Edwin Morrow Flynn and Mildred Louise (Bunnell) Flynn in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dale was employed at St. Vincent Hospital for 42 years as a Unit Representative, retiring in 2013.
In the early years with his mother, Dale was a member of Eastern Star Church and Guiding Light Church. He later became an active member at Our Savior Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the Brotherhood Men’s Choir and Usher Board.
Dale married the love of his life, Tonya Crawford, on July 30, 1985 and together they shared 37 ½ years.
He enjoyed sketching and playing cards, especially Spades. Dales’ favorite color was black, and with the help of his wife he learned to mix and match black with other colors. Most of all his passion was singing morning, noon and night …and sing he could. Dale was often referred to as Smokey Robinson or Pebo Bryson.
He was very soft spoken and was known as the coolest guy around, always loving and caring for others.
Dale Andre Flynn Sr. departed this life to join the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 5:14pm at home with his wife by his side. His son, Dale Andre Flynn Jr.; both parents, Mildred and Edwin Flynn; brothers: Egbert, Gregory, Elmo, Errol, and Eric; sisters, Edwina and Tammy; and a granddaughter, Noesha Beech all preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tonya; daughter, Itsuko Lashawn; sons, Desmon Kevin (Kim) and Keon; grandchildren: DeAndre, Amaya, Karajah Storie, Gregory, Davari, Kenneth and Tyron; two Goddaughters, Corinthia and Rachel; sisters, Beronia (Shelvy) and Linda; brothers, Michael and Edwin Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
