Daisy Mae Young

Daisy Mae (Cannon) Young was born on January 13, 1957 in Inverness, Mississippi to Alcine and Harry Cannon Sr. Daisy graduated from Gentry High School in 1976.

In 1977 she relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana with Roger Young. On September 18, 1981, Daisy and Roger were joined in Holy Matrimony.

Daisy worked in the hotel industry for over 20 years. She also worked for 20 years at Community East Hospital, from where she retired in December of 2020.

Daisy loved spending time with her husband, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to cook for her family every other Sunday. Daisy was a member of Eastern Star Church for over 20 years.

Daisy Mae Young departed from this earthly life unexpectedly on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the age of 67 and she will truly be missed by us all. Her parents; brother, Harry Cannon Jr.; sisters, Frances Hollins and Maxine Rucker; and her beloved daughter, Kathy Young all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish in her loving memory: her husband, Roger Young; daughter, Aliesha Young; grandsons, Corey Young and Collin Young; granddaughters: Kaylin Young, Kiara Young and Alissa Wells; two great-granddaughters, Ja' Kaylaa Young and Tataire Young; brother, Charles Cannon (Leola) of Inverness, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
