Cynthia Romanita Price, affectionately known as "Rome," departed from this world on October 3, 2023. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and a source of light and love to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cynthia was born on August 8, 1965, to her proud parents, Albert Price and Ann (Reed) Price, in Tippo, Mississippi. Her life was marked by a deep commitment to education and service, which was evident from her earliest years. She graduated from John Marshall High School and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Business from Martin University. Her thirst for knowledge did not stop there, as she continued her studies in psychology at Capella University, a testament to her enduring pursuit of understanding the human mind and spirit.
Cynthia's dedication to serving her country and fellow citizens was exemplified during her time in the United States Army, where she served as a petroleum vehicle operator in the 36th battalion. Her commitment to duty, honor, and service was unwavering.
A nurturing caretaker both by nature and trade, Cynthia spent many years in the medical field and devoted herself to advocating for the rights and welfare of those in the juvenile justice system. She saw the potential in every individual and believed that every young life deserved a chance at a better future. Her work in this field left an indelible mark on those she touched and the countless lives she positively impacted.
Cynthia was full of life and had a radiant smile that could light up any room. Her laughter was contagious, and her positivity was a beacon of hope in times of darkness. She was a truly spiritual person, deeply connected to her faith and the Lord. Her passion for helping others was boundless, and she lived by the belief that charity should begin at home, ensuring that her loved ones were always cared for and supported.
Cynthia leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She is survived by her parents, Albert and Ann Price; two sons, Dominick D. Degrafreed and Juan J. Price; daughter, Gillian G. Marks; sister, Linda F. Bond (Lamont); three brothers: Albert E. Price, Jr, Richard Price, and Carlton Price. Her memory lives on in her grandson, Donzay Price, and her granddaughters, Xaviera Price and KristiAnna Smith, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Cynthia Romanita Price will be dearly missed, but her love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others will forever remain in our hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire us to carry on her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness.
