Cubby Lee Cheshier "Kirby"
Cubby received his education in the Indianapolis public schools and Arlington High School.
Cubby was united in holy matrimony to Marie Robinson on …. to this union Curtis Leon was born. Marie proceeded him in death in 2015.
At an early age Cubby (Kirby) professed his hope in Jesus Christ at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing praises to God in the male chorus. In May of 2022 he became a member of the River of Life Church, Indianapolis, Indiana and received the right hand of fellowship under the leadership of Pastor Robert D. Treadwell III.
Cubby was such a loving and funny person. He was known by many to be a chivalrous person, Kind, polite, unselfish and gentlemanly to all women. He was always the life of every party. Wherever he went he made somebody smile. He had a generous heart whatever he did for people he did it without hesitation. His humor and laughter was contagious to everyone who knew him.
Cubby loved singing and praising God, he demonstrated his love for God by allowing God’s love to shine thru him to others especially his love for his Children, grandchildren and family.
Cubby was a hero not just to his kids but to everybody. He saved a family from a burning apartment and was given a Citizen Recognition Award from the Lawrence Common Council in January 2006. He was a man of his word, if he said he would be there he was there.
Cubby was a man of all trades. He fixed cars, cooked, sung, danced and so much more.
Cubby Leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Venus Cheshier- Wedlow (Bobby), Carla Martin, and two sons, Curtis Cheshier and Adrian Evans. Nine grandkids: Kymari, Tre’ Fon, De’ Ontre’ (Rashunda), Jason, Cry’Stal, Diandra, Jeremiah, Jordan, Jada and Twenty-two great grandchildren. Four sisters Brenda and Beverly Cheshier, Rhonda Jones and Kristy Herron (James), one stepsister April Shaw and special sister Sherry Lynem, Five brothers Ernest, Steve and Randy Cheshier, Ozias Burnett, and Victor Burnett. Two great uncles Oliver (Cheryl) and Tracy Croom and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cubby was proceeded in death by parents: James Cheshier (Ida), Emogene Williams (Richard),
siblings, Mary Delores Cheshier, Yvonne Williams, Clementine Allensworth: Dale Wayne Cheshier, Ivan Burnett, and Biff Burnett.
