Claude Ray Smith

Mr. Claude Ray Smith 'Richard', age 69, passed away on February 1, 2016. 'Richard' as he was lovingly called by family and friends, was born in Indianapolis to Mayme Nell Smith and Charles T. Smith. He received his education in the Indianapolis Public Schools. 'Richard' proudly served his country for 22 years in the US Army, from where he received an Honorable Discharge. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, but most of all he enjoyed racing bicycles,.'Richard' leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Karen, Phyllis and Mattie Smith; brothers, Charles T. Smith, Jr., and Billy Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and many friends. 'Richard' will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd from 9am until 10am at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals 5811 E. 38th Street. Funeral service will follow at 10am. Interment will be in Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN.
