Clarence H. Mccauley

Life Reflections

Clarence H. McCauley was born to Ada McCauley on June 21, 1954 in Indianapolis. He was raised by his aunts and uncles as a young child and lived with them until they preceded him in death.

Clarence attended Indianapolis Public Schools #44 and 87, and Crispus Attucks High School. It was there that he met his future wife, Brenda M. Gaines; they became friends and classmates. They both graduated from Crispus Attucks in 1972. After graduation, he was employed by the then Indiana Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 2002 after more than 30 years of service. While there, he held a variety of positions that included telephone operator, was a coin collector, a residential telephone installer and later, lineman.

On September 30, 1983, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Brenda and from this union one child, Michael, was born.

Clarence enjoyed watching football, basketball, and hockey. He and Brenda, along with friends Billy and Elmore Fatheree, and Brenda's nephew, Bertram Gaines (Butchie) formed a band in the late 70's, where he played the saxophone. He really enjoyed playing in the band and hoped that one day they would all become famous musicians.

He will be greatly missed and we believe we will meet again on that most ‘wonderful getting up morning' where we'll be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Brenda; son, Michael; brothers: Charles (Sherlynn) and Anthony Warren, sisters Evelyn Abraham (Abe) and Velma Warren Kelly (Tony), four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, great aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John (Johnny) McCauley, Donnie and Gerome Warren.
