Clarence H. Haslett

Clarence H. Haslett was born in Black Hawk, Mississippi on February 5, 1943 to John Thomas Haslett and Lula Gay (Phillips) Haslett.

He received his education in the Carroll County School System in Black Hawk, Mississippi. At the early age, Clarence confessed his life to Christ and joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. C. Clay.
Clarence was united in Holy Matrimony to Gladys Boles on March 7, 1965 and they moved to Chicago, Illinois.  That union was blessed with two beautiful children, Lorraine and Marvin. Clarence later relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in July of 1996.
He was a fun-loving father, brother and cousin. Clarence loved playing cards, fishing and watching sports. He had a good mind for fixing cars and loved bragging to his friends.

Clarence worked at John B. Sanfilippo & Sons Nut Factory in Chicago for many years. He also worked several years for the Chicago Tribune.  In Indianapolis, he worked for the Brookshire Healthcare Center as a kitchen care technician before he retired.Clarence H. Haslett departed this life on Saturday, December 17, 20220 at the age of 79 years. His parents, John Thomas and Lula Gay Haslett; daughter, Lorraine; and sister, Gay Elizabeth preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his son, Marvin Haslett Sr. (Terri); three grandchildren: Marvin Haslett Jr., Marquis Young and Simiyah Cummings; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, John Alexander; sister, Lula Rene; Uncle Clyde (Shirley) and Aunt Rose; special and devoted friend, Beatrice Halliburton; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
