Chantell Rene' Givens was born to Paula Michelle Corbin and Rickey Leroy Givens on March 8, 1984 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She attended Wayne Township Schools Robey Elementary, Fulton Jr. High School and Ben Davis High School. Chantell later earned her GED in 2004. She also attended Primeway Institute where she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant Certification in 2009. She enjoyed caring for the elderly and children, a few of her many talents.
Throughout her life, Chantell enjoyed the life of fashion, hair and nails. In 2014, she made the decision to attend Empire Beauty School on the west side of town in Indianapolis and became a successful hair stylist. She also enjoyed jobs that required bi-lingual services because she was experienced with reading, writing and speaking Spanish. Chantell never had a problem fitting in with any type of crowd.
She recognized Christ early in life while attending Smith Temple Church of God In Christ. She enjoyed going to church with her Grandma Sarah or her Uncle Henry, both of whom she was very close to. Although she faced many obstacles in her life, Chantell always recognized Christ and found her way back to the church.
Chantell was the type of person who had a heart of gold and was always the life of the party. Her presence would bring anyone laughter and joy, even if they were having a bad day. She enjoyed singing, dancing, performing comedy session and karaoke. Her hobbies that she enjoyed the most was cooking, cleaning and spending time with her family. She was never married and did not have any children, but she loved her some Richard Mason a.k.a. Christmas Tree. All of the children loved to see her coming. She enjoyed playing games and watching cartoons. She loved to make people laugh and eating ranch on all of her food.
Chantell Rene' Givens departed this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 34 years, seven months, and two days.
She is survived by her mother, Paula Corbin-Givens-Pernell (Larry); father, Rickey Givens; step-father, Michael Higgins; sisters, Tiffany Laderson (Joseph), Tina Higgins, Ay'esha Higgins and My'eshia Higgins; nephews, Nicolas Washington Jr. and Joaquin Laderson; niece, Tarynn Fields; grandmothers, Sarah Corbin and Lora Carter;a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Chantell will forever be missed and in the hearts and thoughts of everyone that knew her forever
