Catherine was a member of The House of God Church Inc., Keith Dominion in Evergreen, AL.
In 1963, she moved to Pensacola, Florida where she was united in marriage to the late Jimmy Lamar Sr. To that union four children were born, in which one child preceded her in death. In 1969, Catherine relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, and while there, she was introduced to and married the late Clarence Roberson.
Catherine became a member of Sanders Temple Church of God In Christ in 1972 where she held various offices such as: Choir President, Pastor Aide President, Sisterhood member, Cook and she was over the Hospitality Committee.
In 2007, Catherine married Pastor John Adaway, who preceded her in death. While a member at Irvington First Baptist Church, she was a devoted member until her health began to decline. Her service in the church was immaculate and she was a faithful church member that work untiredly. Catherine was the type of church member, that what her hands found to do in the house of the Lord, she done it with all her might. Sister Catherine love the church and exemplified her love with action. Her passion was cooking, and she had a love for baking cakes; there was not a dish she could not cook to perfection.
On June 1, 2022, she quietly obeyed the command of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and quietly drifted into the unknown land, a land where no living man has ever entered. The transition was done, and death angel’s mission was completed. She will be missed by her family and friends. Her parents, John and Irene George; and two children, Carol Lamar and Jimmy Lamar Jr. preceded her in death.
