Carol Ann Ross Patton was born December 21, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Wilford Ben Ross and Charlie May Davenport Ross. She attended Indianapolis Public Schools #17, #23 and she graduated from Shortridge High School in 1958.
Carol was united in marriage to Arnold E Patton Sr. on June 10, 1961 and to their union three sons were born: Curtis, Darrell and Arnold Patton Jr.
She was a homemaker for many years before taken on her first job with Guarantee Auto. Carol also worked several years at Blocks Department Store and Fannie Mae as an Administrative Assistant. After retiring she kept herself busy by babysitting several of her church family children and traveling until she was no longer able to.
Carol was a lifelong member of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church and held many positions. She was the president of Voices of Phillips, Lead for the children choir, President of the Girls Ensemble, Co-Director of commission for evangelism, Sunday School teacher and Vocational Bible School teacher.
She volunteered for several projects at her church where she performed missionary work that took her to places like Africa and Haiti spreading the word GOD. She had a strong Christian faith and unwavering belief in GOD throughout her entire life especially in the past years as her health began to fail.
Carol instilled of importance of GOD in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren or to anyone who entered her presence.
She was an extraordinary Wife, Mother, Auntie, Mother in-law, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend. She enjoyed watching baseball, reading her Bible and spending time with family especially her cousin, Marsha Cole.
Carol also enjoyed the annual family gathering held each year and would be the first to arrive to lend a helping hand. She never complained or got mad and if she did you would not know it. One of her favorite things to say was “Just pray about it.”
Carol Ann Patton was called Home to be with the Father on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Her father, Wilford Ben Ross; mother, Charlie May Davenport Ross; and sister, Barbara Ross, all preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her sons, Curtis Patton, Darrell Patton and Arnold Patton Jr.; daughters-in-law: Porsha Patton, Lynetta Patton and Tammy Patton; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Ross Duncan; nieces: Rhonda Buck, Monica Boney, Brittany Ross Hale; nephews, Dewayne Duncan and Raymond Ross; and a host of friends, church family, ministers and professional associates.
