Billye Jean 'Nana' Saunders

Mrs. Billye Jean Saunders, age 78, passed away to be at the side of our Lord on Saturday, January 9, 2016. She was beloved by many and will be missed by all she openly welcomed into the home she shared with her loving husband of 60 yrs., Lt. ((Ret) John E. Saunders. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband and their children; Mackie Byrd, Freddy Saunders, Chyrell Saunders, Darryl Saunders and Reginald (Michelle) Saunders; sister, Eleanor (Verle) Hammond; grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Saunders, Ransome (Kesha) Marshall, Jonathan Marshall, Antonio and Arika Saunders, Tia Byrd; great-grandchildren, Michael Jr. and Jonathan Saunders, Roma Jean-Roxie Marshall, as well as countless Loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in passing by her eldest daughter, Roma Saunders Marshall.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15th from 10am until 12 Noon at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1060 W. 30th Street with funeral services immediately following visitation.Interment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery.
