Honoring Army Staff Sergeant Beecham Lockhart Jr.

Mr. Beecham Lockhart Jr, the third of five children, was born on September 5,1930 in Logan County, Kentucky to the late Beecham and Cassie Offutt Lockhart.

 

Beecham attended Public School in Kentucky, after his mother passed away in 1935 Beecham lived with a host of relatives in Franklins, Kentucky.

 

Beecham volunteered for the military at the early age of 18 years old. He was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado in 1951.

Beecham served 3 tours in the United States Army

Beecham served his first tour of duty in Germany for 2 years, 1 month, and 8 days.

Beecham reenlisted to service an additional tour of duty in Qui Nhon, Vietnam 2 years 9 months and 2 days.

Beecham after the Vietnam war he served his country for an additional 16 years, 5 months and 4 days.

  • Beecham Lockhart, born in Logan County, Kentucky town in 1930, face the challenges of poverty from an early age. At 18, driven by a deep love for the United States, he enlisted in the military for two decades. Beecham dedicated his life to serving his country, enduring the trials of the Vietnam War.

 

  • Returning from service, Beecham settled down in Indianapolis where he was married for a short period of time, living a solitary life. In his quiet years he found purpose working for IPS, contributing his skills for 18 dedicated years. As the years passed, Beecham a man shaped by service and resilience, reached the age of 93.

 

  • In the twilight of his life, he reflected on the journey that had taken him from a small Kentucky town to the battlefield and then to the bustling city of Indianapolis. At 93 years of age Beecham peacefully left this world at 5:53pm on January 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of patriotism and quiet dedication.

 

        - He is preceded in death by his brothers Eugene Lockhart, Sr., James “The Blues Man” Lockhart,   Elvis “Cadillac Man” Lockhart and sister Minnie G Lockhart.
