Barbara Jean (Cross) Mcneal

Barbara Jean Muir-McNeal was born July 26, 1935 as an only child. She attended Crispus Attucks High School.  Afterwards she moved to Dayton, Ohio where she started a family.

In the early 70’s she moved her family back to Indianapolis, to be closer to her mom.

She retired in 2005 due to a injury and pursued her love for the arts, music, reading, writing and crossword puzzles.

Barbara was a loving, sweet compassionate mom who devoted her life to family and Christ. She was a member of Jerusalem Temple, for many years.

Barbara Jean Muir-McNeal departed this life on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the age of 85 years. Her husband, Horace Muir; mother, Odessa Cross; and son Edmond McNeal all preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughters: Carmen Davis, Sandra Bailey and Reginia Weissman; son, Elliott McNeal; grandchildren: Kwane McNeal, John and Carmine Davis, Thomas Bewley and Elliott McNeal Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; cousin, Joyce Miller; and a host of loving family and friends.  Barbara is sorely missed and forever loved.
