Mrs. Annie Mae (Miner) Taylor, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.Annie was born in Haredmon, County, Sommerville, TN, the fourth child of 12 siblings.Annie graduated from Allen White High School in Whitesville, TN. She graduated from Purdue University- Cosmetology in Indianapolis. Annie professed a hope in Christ at an early age and upon moving to Indianapolis, she became an active member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board for over 40 years.In 1962, Annie united in Holy Matrimony to Dave Taylor and they enjoyed a beautiful marital bliss until he preceded her in death.Annie worked several jobs. For over a decade she worked at Paris Beauty Salon until she opened her own salon on 16th & Columbia...Ann's His & Hers.She was a member of Parisian Court #201 DOI, Sattelite Court #! HOS. Purity Chapter #51 OES.Annie was active in Community Affairs. She was a Washington Township Councilwoman and served as a secretary for the Ebony Fashion Show. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be missed by all.Her loving memories will be cherished by daughters, Brenda Taylor, Gwandel Bowens, LaToya Taylor, Syretha Shirley, a son: Kortez Shirley, granddaughter, Essence Bynum, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers and a host of other loving family and many cherished friends.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 10am - 12 Noon at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals - LBJ Chapel 5811 E. 38th Street.Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be in New Crown Cemetery.
