Anna L. (Tardy) Adams

In the divine wisdom of God, on October 19, 1934, Anna Louise Tardy Adams was born to the loving parentage of the late Mr. James Nathaniel Tardy and Mrs. Pearlie Ann Jane Loving Tardy, in Oakland, KY. Anna received her educational studies within the Warren County Public School System and proudly graduated from State Street High School in 1953.

Early in life, she joined the Oakland Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oakland, KY. After relocating to Indianapolis, IN, in 1953, she joined the 25th Street Baptist Church and was an active member of the Young Adult Choir. In 195 8, she joined Carter Memorial Baptist Church and became a Deaconess on November 4, 1973. Over a period of sixty-six years, she served faithfully in the following ministries: Senior Choir, Sanctuary Choir, Missionary Society, Pastor's Aid Committee and Kitchen Committee.

Anna always possessed a servant's heart and not only allowed her light to shine through her worship, but also through her work ethic. In 1988, she retired from RCA after 32 y ears of employment.

On October 20, 1956, she became one in The Lord with Mr. David Adams. Together this wonderful union was blessed to be surrogate parents to countless children, who continuously express their love and admiration for them. Mrs. Adams was a kind, sweet, loving and congenial person. Her caring and nurturing manner was surely a gift from God, and a blessing to all. She was always willing to serve and wait on others without thinking of herself. No matter the occasion or event, if there was a need to serve, you could always count on her for assistance without even asking. She always had a listening ear and was ever so supportive and non-judgmental. Anna was loved and respected by all and will be greatly missed.

Among those welcoming her loving spirit into the assurance of eternal rest are the loved ones who preceded her; endearing parents, Mr. James Nathaniel Tardy and Mrs. Pearlie Ann Tardy; her beloved husband of 49 y ears, Mr. David Adams; and her loving siblings, William F. Tardy, Dorothy L. Foster, Annie Mae Alexander, Frank Tardy, Raymond Tardy, and Earl B. Tardy.

On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Mrs. Adams answered the Master's Call, leaving cherished memories to an adopted son and daughter: James and La-Nelda Petty, Sr. of Alexandria, VA; two grandchildren: James Petty, Jr. of Sherwood, AR and Jarvis Petty (Anastasia) of Antioch, CA; two great-grandsons: Killian Finn Connolly of Ketchikan, AK and Corzellis Dean Neeley, Jr. of Conway, AR; five great-granddaughters: Izabella Janae Petty of Conway, AR, Gemma Scarlett Petty of Little Rock, AR, Maleah Louise Petty, Ava Simone Petty, and Jahzara Pearl Petty, all of Antioch, CA; two goddaughters: Natalie Shobe and Rachelle Tardy, both of Indianapolis, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whose lives have been enriched beyond measure by her presence.
