Age 69, Andy passed away on February 12, 2025, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents - Nancy Peterson-Lucas and Ester Lucas Sr., along with three of his siblings - Willa Mae Peterson, Archie Peterson, and Ester Lucas, Jr. 

Andy leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Lester Lucas (Ruth Lucas); his sister, Genanett Alexander; his children, Andrew 'Drew' Lucas Jr. (Samantha Gardiner) and Angelena 'Angel' Lucas Wilson; his former spouse and devoted friend, Beth Ann Lucas (Rebecca Miller); his five grandchildren: Dante Stevenson, D'Angelo Lucas, Beni Wilson, Bronx Lucas, and Calen Lucas; and his sister-in-law, Jane Peterson. He is also survived by a host of extended family and an abundance of cherished friends.

A Crispus Attucks graduate, Andy was a talented chef who brought joy and flavor to every dish he prepared. In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, fishing, skating, and recently discovered a love for cruising. Known for his gregarious personality, Andy was stubborn, direct, and unapologetic with a big mouth and an even bigger heart. His presence was impossible to ignore, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow, at Lavenia and Summers, 5811 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218.Following the service, the burial will take place at Washington Park North Cemetery, 2702 Kessler Boulevard West Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46228.

Our family is deeply grateful for the condolences and well wishes, and we thank everyone who attends Andy’s services. If you are unable to attend in person, the funeral service will be live streamed.

Thank you for loving our father. He is cherished and will be missed beyond words. We are thankful for all the time we had with him.
