Alice Elkins

Alice Elkins was born December 18,1941 in Cairo, Illinois to Dewitt and Lucille (Cherry) Toomer.

She received her education in the Cairo, IL schools and graduated from Sumner High School.

Alice was united in Holy Matrimony to Billie “Joe” Elkins. Their union was blessed with four children: Raymont, Tracy, Coriene and Ronnie.

She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Community Church in Muncie, Indiana and the House of Naomi Chapter #11 Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.)

Alice Elkins peacefully departed this life on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Her devoted husband, Billie “Joe” Elkins; loving son, Raymont Toomer; parents, Dewitt and Lucille Toomer; as well as brothers and sisters all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her children: Tracy Toomer (Susan), Coriene “Lynn” (Ricky), and Ronnie Toomer “Yakes”; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings: William Toomer, Ora Mae Henry and Wilamina Mock; a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
