Alfred L. Lovelace Sr.

Mr. Alfred Lamon Lovelace Sr. was born June 29, 1941, in Evansville, Indiana to Frank and Catherine Lovelace.

Alfred knew God his whole life and joined Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana at an early age. Alfred moved from Evansville, Indiana to Indianapolis, Indiana in the mid-1970’s and later joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and then moved his membership to Prayer & Ministry of the Word Church.

Alfred was united in Holy Matrimony to Rebecca Hardy on June 10, 2000.

He joined the United States Army from 1966 – 1968, serving his country for two years before receiving an honorable discharge.

Alfred retired from Chrysler Manufacturing Plant after thirty-six years of dedicated service.

He loved to watch football and basketball games. Alfred enjoyed bowling, fishing and play cards with his family and friends. Alfred loved to shop, dress and talk on his “c.b. radio”.

Mr. Alfred Lamon Lovelace Sr., departed this earthly life on Friday, April 5, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lovelace; two daughters, Valerie Lovelace and Remona E. Banks-Holton; two brothers, George Lovelace and Donald Lovelace.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his wife Mrs. Rebecca Lovelace; son, Alfred Lovelace Jr.; sisters: Mattie Cruce; Wynetta Vick (William) of Kileen, TX, Cathy Lovelace of Evansville, IN  and Susan Lovelace; stepson, Travell Hampton Sr. (Deborah); stepdaughter, Shakira King (Cory); grandchildren: Chattaun Banks, Robbin Banks, Lamon Rush, Jalen Thompson, Jordan Thornton and Travell Hampton Jr.; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all of his buddies from the Chrysler Plant.
