We are celebrating the life of the one and only Alesia Johnson Kimbrough born September 12, 1960 in Jackson, Mississippi. Her mother, Ora Lee Catchings Sholar and her father, Frank Thompson raised eight children in which Alesia was the third child. The family relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1969 . Alesia attended Arsenal Technical High School and was a member of the nursing guild for Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Emeritus Curtis Lee Vance.
Alesia, affectionally known as “Lady A”, was always fly and beautiful. Her hair, nails and outfit must be right before stepping outdoors. “Lady A” was a true, dedicated child of God who would let God use her in any way possible. She was known to help and bless many others in her time on earth. Alesia enjoyed watching her Crime/Sci-Fi tv shows, singing, attending wrestling events and spending time loving on her grandchildren.
Alesia was joined in marriage to the late Tony Kimbrough in May 2011 and remained together until his passing in 2018.
Alesia gained her wings in the early morning hours of August 11, 2024, at the age of 63 years old. Her granddaughters, Faith M. Tracy and Aniya S Thomas; grandson, Montez T. Thomas; mother, Ora Lee Catchings Sholar; father, Frank Thompson; and brothers, Anthony Thompson and Curtis Thompson, all preceded her in death.
